Vote No! Pierce county property taxes are already going up by double digits in most areas. However, most people won't realize this until AFTER the election when their 2020 tax statements arrive in the mail.

Bethel school district # 403 they are corrupt thats why. To much unnecessary spending going on. A few years ago their was a teacher at White River high School stealing funds for school activity's.

Lived in town for 12 yrs and was a regular patron for 5yrs. I've had all of the varieties of breads, pastries and meals. Maybe I've never had the chance to try the food before a change of ownership. But the bread tastes like sawdust, no flavor. All the chocolate pasties taste the same, no distinction between brownie, cookie or donut, same taste and not one that I've enjoyed. The meals are greasy and everything is flavored with, what tastes to me as Johnny Salt. Nothing to recommend is resident or visitor. I once found an old menu before a change in ownership and that menu looked like high quality food, but changed into things like canned crab and low grade ingredients. I finally threw in the towel and travel the extra 5 miles north or south to find decent food. It's great that you think this is fine dining and great bread, but I recommend expanding your horizon to farm to table fresh food and real fresh made bread bakeries in South King county for comparison.

Over 500 legal scholars, over 700 historians and at least 18 national newspapers have endorsed Trump's impeachment. Our Democracy requires checks and balances in the federal government, it requires a foreign policy that the world can trust and is based on our national interest and not the president's personal benefit, it requires that federal spending is controlled through our elected representatives and it requires that we can vote in fair elections untainted by foreign interference. Trump has threatened these core values of our Democracy, as is well-documented in these impeachment hearings. All our legislators have a duty to future generations to impeach and remove Trump.

Your writings are saturated with this same arrogance. It's amazing to me that, being such a wise and learned man that you have such an inability to self reflect and "observe" your own ridiculous biases and arrogant attitude toward those with whom you might not agree. You essentially dismiss those who see it differently, as ignorant fools who need to be educated (by you). Again, this is a very common trait among far too many Democrats. And this arrogant, elitist attitude is exactly why we ended up with a jerk like Donald Trump.

I'm not a fan of Donald Trump. I did, however expend the time and effort to actually READ the transcript of the phone call between Trump and the Ukranian president. This transcript is a matter of public record and that's why it was released - So people can read it and decide for themselves. Did you actually read it? If you have/had, you would know that whatever the whistleblower says is irrelevant. The transcript is the truth, verbatim. Only ONE reference was made to Biden during that conversation and absolutely nothing was said about the aid package. None of this would matter to someone who seeks to persuade those who are not "experienced... educated" such as you.

Trump, it seems has almost certainly mis-stepped. Whether or not this is an impeachable offense is certainly debatable. Republicans are now pointing out offenses that were committed against Trump during the 2016 campaign, right up until he was elected. These offenses were indeed abuses of power that constitute true and undeniable election tampering. These offenses were committed by the Obama administration and those facts are now released in the form of an investigative report that outlines the facts with actual, identified witnesses!

We will certainly not hear or read anything about this though. Yes, indeed... I can certainly see what's happening here. I see that "experienced and educated" people who look down upon anyone who disagrees and sees things differently, are manipulating the facts and leaving out important details that would provide a more balanced view. Uh... Yeah that would be people like YOU.

Correction, Marshall Ferguson was appointed, not elected, because he was the only candidate who filed for the position. Nobody voted for him because he was unopposed, he wasn't even on the ballot.

This opinion piece is hilariously bad. First he notes that the initiative was passed with overwhelming majority... STATEWIDE. Then suggests it's perfectly acceptable for a LIBERAL judge to go against the will of that majority because he was elected by a majority of a subset of that population, one that is extremely LIBERAL. Then he pivots to the ludicrous and unsupportable notion that this vote was somehow a statement on Sound Transit?? WTF does anyone in 99% of the state's districts even care about Sound Transit? Pull your head out Elfers.

This letter provides an excellent example of how "drive-by" opinions are so useless: I bet the writer didn't even lift a finger to call her city council member or mayor to ask whether Semanski Street was really actually "paved twice"

The LAST thing I would imagine in Enumclaw is an out-of-control big city bureaucracy blowing money on, um, double-paving the same road.

Each person has their own, unique opinion - that's all well and good. But anybody who pretends that their own, (often misinformed) opinion is now suddenly supposed to be the truth... those are the LAST people we should trust or listen to.

Another fun fact: no Enumclaw voters pay the Sound Transit tax. The closest boundary is 15 miles away in Bonney Lake. Indeed, the people who actually DO pay the Sound Transit tax voted against I-976 by a 54-46 margin. That's the same percentage of people who voted FOR the car tabs tax in 2016.

Opinions are cute, but facts still matter.

Regarding stepfather that assaulted his stepdaughter, that is the craziest explanation he gave. More likely could have been sexual assault intentions. Psychologists say high incidence of sexual assault statistics by non blood related males in the home, such as mothers boyfriend's. Constantly in the news.

Mayhap the extortionists in Olympia should have considered all this before they gave taxing power to an unelected bureaucracy (RTA), sanctioned by a corrupt court but illegal under the state Constitution, lied about how much they would take, lied about how they would figure how much they would steal and then when challenged in court stated that Ya we lied about it but it’s our money stop trying to take it away from us. We shall see what the Seattle Supreme Court decides on this but I don’t, based on the corrupt rulings in the past, hold out much hope that the will of the people (for the third time!) will be upheld. And whats the King County Exec's answer to all this, trust us, give us an income tax? Like H%$l

It's not clear if the study took into consideration the emissions at the Oregon (or where-ever) receiving end or just calculated Washington's emissions - after all we are all in this together and the TOTAL impact should be measured. While I'm not about to read their 300 page "report" it should also take into consideration the income generated by the WTE and the cost to get the energy to the grid. WTE's have been around for years. Wheelabrator Technologies have been operating them since 1975 even in the finicky and obtuse state of California. IF the WTE's can be built to meet all future emission standards then it should be a no-brainer.
